CRUSH

“CRUSH” is the busiest time of year in the wine industry. A sparkling wine riddling rack is a metaphor for “The Wall” and brings to life the socioeconomic divisions in class and the struggles of the undocumented, but essential, farm workers. Camouflaged farm workers, climb the wall, moving stealthily from vines to barrels, hiding in plain sight, only to be met by the elitist hot air balloonists, who crush them by turning on spigots, hurling “grape bombs”, and throwing them off the wall.. The grapes grow down, while the sparkling wine bubbles float up with those in the balloons, representing the war between the haves and the have-nots.

Riddling rack, wine bottles, wood, glass, spigots, plastic tubing, 54”x24”x10” $2000
